Whispers in the Dark - First Contact (1 of 4)

Briefing

So good to see you, you. I've been on a pretty tight schedule for the past two weeks, ever since we discovered the strange, and increasing, Serpentis activity in the system. Our CEO demands an explanation, yet we still don't know enough about the situation to determine what's really going on. And that's where you come in. Serpentis activity on this scale in the dungeon is unheard of, and quite frankly we aren't well enough prepared at the moment to deal with any major conflict with them. Not only that, but those greedy pirates are insatiable, and news of their appearance around here has sent the trade lanes into a state of panic. People are leaving this station already, making my superiors ... less than content if you know what I mean. We're losing good people because of this unacceptable situation and we need to put an end to it. The first thing I want you to do is undertake a reconnaisance mission for us into an area where we have witnessed most of the Serpentis activity. We've already lost a few patrols that ventured into this area, so be careful. If you do find any Serpentis ships out there, eliminate them. We don't want any prisoners, interrogating these deviants won't do us any good. Report your findings to me a.s.a.p.
