The time is once again here for another EVE Invasion World Tour Megablog – this one focused on the shenanigans that are about to kick off next weekend at EVE Down Under 2019!
One of the longest running events on the calendar, EDU has harnessed the uniqueness of our Aussie community for more than half a decade, and we’re super stoked to be working with the event organizers as part of the Invasion World Tour this year.
This year’s event will be the biggest EVE Down Under ever in terms of CCP attendance, with a total of ten devs, including CCP Hellmar, the CEO of CCP, flying out to talk spaceships and present to our pilots on quite literally the opposite side of the planet.
As we roll toward what’s looking like it’ll be the most epic EDU ever, the World Tour team are currently putting the final touches on a celebration of all things Aussie community for our pilots who’re coming to Sydney, and we’re now ready to share more information with you guys!
As part of the EVE Down Under megablog, we’re super happy to reveal that after their amazing support with the first two legs of the EVE Invasion World Tour, CORSAIR will be joining us for the rest of the journey this year as our partner for all World Tour events over the course of 2019.
We’re super happy to have CORSAIR as our sponsor for the World Tour after the excellent support we received so far.
The glorious light of iCUE RGB will continue to shine throughout the year as we head to venues across the globe to celebrate all things internet spaceships!
We’ve come to realize over the last few months that taking a break from hosting Fanfest in Reykjavík was an even crazier idea than we first imagined, but wow did we underestimate the response from the community!
Two legs of the World Tour down, and we’ve already had two record breaking events with the largest EVEsterdam in history and the biggest gathering of Russian speaking pilots we’ve ever witnessed.
The way in which the community has embraced the World Tour has been incredible so far, and we’re super stoked to continue the journey as we head to Toronto, that place I can’t spell in Finland, Berlin, Vegas and London later in the year.
While we’re on the road this year we’ll be travelling across the planet to raise a glass to the awesomeness and uniqueness of the EVE Community at every stop along the way, as we talk spaceships and share stories about the crazy stories capsuleers get themselves into.
It’s been epic so far and we can’t thank attendees at EVEsterdam and St. Petersburg enough for the incredibly warm reception we’ve received so far. We can’t wait to get out to the rest of the stops on the trip and meet more of our pilots!
Given that our faithful CCP Dopamine is still in one piece after both EVEsterdam and St. Petersburg, we’ll be slipping him back in his shipping crate and sending him off to Australia to host the third round of the EVE Invasion Tournament Series.
There’s going to be be some player gathering veterans showing up at EDU this year, as well as a couple of rookies that are going to need Australian survival tricks and training on how to avoid Dropbear and Hoopsnake attacks.
For EVE Down Under 2019, the CCP roster will be:
We’ve got a pretty packed schedule for you guys at EVE Down Under this year and have been collaborating closely with the EDU team to make sure that the event maintains its rather Australian flavour and uniqueness.
While there’s two days of programming on May 24 and 25, there’s also a few additional activities on the Thursday and Sunday (May 23 and 26), so pilots who’re attending won’t have a shortage of things to get up to over the course of the weekend.
The EVE Invasion World Tour is heavily focused on celebrating the amazing community that has grown around New Eden over the course of the last sixteen years, and our Aussies have been a very proactive, loud and passionate part of our core community for as long as EVE has existed.
We can’t wait to kick things off and get the party started!
Over the course of four days there’ll be dinner, partying, presentations, roundtables and all manner of spaceship related fun. Let’s take a look at the schedule in more detail. Please be aware that the roundtable track runs parallel with the presentation track.
Early registration will kick off at 14:00 for those who’re arriving a little more in advance of the event. You’ll be able to pick up your access pass and swag a little earlier if you want to do .
This year’s Dinner With A Dev is going to be something special. On Thursday evening, those with tickets to this special event will board the MV John Cadman II for a four-hour cruise of Darling Harbour on the opening night of Vivid Sydney. A three-course meal and open bar (beer, wine and soft drinks) are included in the price. What better way to talk serious spaceship business with the dev team?
Attendees will embark from No 1 King Street Darling Harbour at 6pm and disembark again at 10pm.
Event day registration kicks off at 08:00 for those who know that this time of the day exists. Early birds will be able to pick up their passes in the morning!
Join Chiimera and the EDU crew for an introduction to EVE Down Under 2019, and a look back over the history of the event.
Enjoying his first trip to EVE Down Under, CCP Hellmar is here to speak about The Friendship Machine that is the EVE Community, and what makes it tick.
As we roll toward EVE Online: Invasion, the summer expansion for EVE Online, CCP Mimic is here to share a little more detail about what pilots can expect.

A Journey, Alpha to Omega follows the progression of a skilled Alpha pilot starting with a 50m ISK bankroll on their path to omega account status and beyond over a 4-week period.
Join CCP Antiquarian for this roundtable focused on the beauty and art of EVE and what you, the community would like to see in future.
Sometimes the most important conversations are the hardest to have. Mom Bellicose is here to share a message well-being and maybe even some advice on game mechanics!
Check out The Glorious CCP AMA - EVE Down Under Edition for your chance to ask the devs in attendance all your fun and messed up questions.
Join Dark Ra... errr... CCP Larrikin as he looks at the data behind our Australian Community's activity, and what's up in the AU Timezone in New Eden.

Come chat with CCP Larrikin in this roundtable about the data that drives EVE, the economy, and what you'd like to see reflected in the Monthly Economic Report.
Nom nom nom…
This slot in the schedule is reserved for all the shenanigans we've come to expect from the EVE Invasion Tournament Series, as we look to see who'll be joining our victors from EVEsterdam and EVE Russia at Fanfest 2020!
CCP karkur will be on hand in this round table to chat with you about all the little things in EVE that would make quality of life a little better. Got ideas for small tweaks and changes? Come share them!
Join CCP Dopamine and a selection of the devs attending EVE Down Under for the closing ceremony of EDU 2019, where we'll look back over the event, and a look forward to what's coming up on the rest of the EVE Invasion World Tour!
The main party of EVE Down Under 2019 will take place at the wonderful Café del Mar. The venue boasts an enormous wrap around terrace with an inspiring view, comfortable lounges and a feature bar. Access to this party is included in the price of your EDU access pass, so come along and share a few drinks!
The event will include a free selection of canapes for two hours and beverages for three hours.
After what’s no doubt going to be a epic few days, some rest and recuperation is going to be needed. The venue for this event is still to be confirmed, but more information will be available soon!
For those who can’t make it to EVE Down Under, a selection of the content from the event will be produced and live streamed by our awesome friends at EDU on their twitch channel, in association with the dream team from Streamfleet!
The Streamfleet team will also be on hand to make sure that all the presentation sessions are recorded, so keep an eye on social media for more updates when the videos are available!
As with all of the events so far on the EVE Invasion World Tour schedule, pilots attending EVE Down Under will receive three SKINs unique to the event, in celebration of the Australian community and their amazing contribution to sixteen years of player narrative in New Eden as well as EVE Invasion World Tour t-shirts too.
The regular EVE Down Under Store will also make an appearance, with all manner of goodies on offer!
Returning to Australia with the biggest ever contingent of EVE Devs we’ve seen on the island is going to be awesome, and we’re looking forward to welcoming hundreds of pilots from the region to EVE Down Under 2019.
We’re super stoked to fly on over and be among some of the most colourful and hardcore EVE players out there (just don’t ask us about moving downtime!)
We can’t wait to see you guys when we touch down for one of the most epic and anticipated events of the year!
