Community Beat for 19 June

Hello spacefriends and welcome once again to the Community Beat! You have been up to many cool things in the last couple of weeks so let's turn our mk. 1 eyeballs upon some of them!

It's been a little over a week since the release of Cradle of War and since then capsuleers have been feverishly at work on military campaigns, baking T2 carriers and blowing each other up in the new Navy Destroyers. It's awesome to warp into a Moissanite or Kangite deposit and see a hundred random people in Ventures and Pioneers, joining public boosting fleets and chatting it up in local.

I-RED WANTS YOU!

Right before Cradle of War was released, Ishukone-Raata Enforcement Directive [I-RED] dropped this powerful video, issuing a call to arms to loyal Caldari and their supporters, urging them to serve the State. Does this stir something in you? If so then pay a visit to their Discord!

Blaster Boys

An unholy melange of EVE Online creators congealed in this last week, seeing Erst, The Oz, CrashNaps, ThatGuyToxic and Damian Warlock - no doubt desperately seeking to prolong their Fanfest bromance - teaming up to assist the Gallente in the opening days of Cradle of War.

Co-streaming throughout the week and organizing NPSI fleets through their joint Discord server they seemed to have had a ton of fun and even provoked some wild battles, such as this one in Ahbazon, captured by Bombeldo the Wizard and featuring Harold the Navy Dreadnought:

Achievement Hunting

Another feature introduced in Cradle of War was achievements and titles, and these have inspired some capsuleers who enjoy filling up bars and collecting things. FC Convict is one such person, however as the in-game tracking of the exploration achievement is a bit lacking he has had to resort to a primitive method of monitoring his progress:

Thankfully there are far smarter people who play EVE Online and we've seen some very innovative tools emerge to help with this task!

One such example came from Sargon of Amerish who used spreadsheets and LLMs to construct an optimal route to get the Starbound achievement. AND they recorded themselves running it!

And helpfully, our own FC Pinky has cooked up a publicly available tool called EVE Empire Achievement Tracker to help people track their progress in the four Empire exploration tasks, making the Border Breaker achievement much easier to follow:

And then there's the Historic Wanderer achievement which can be obtained by visiting systems in New Eden which house historic landmarks. EVE legends Signal Cartel have created EVE Triptiks which collects the cluster's noteworthy historical locations in an easy to use map which can assist with the achievement or just be fulfilling places for historically-inclined capsuleers to visit!

Faction Destroyer NPSI Fleet

Rev3nants Wrath are holding their second NPSI (Not-Purple-Shoot-It) fleet! In case you're not familiar with the NPSI concept, these are public fleets which anyone can join regardless of their in-game affiliations and can serve as a great introduction to PvP in EVE Online.

This particular fleet is on Sunday, 28 June and is forming up in Jita at 18:00 UTC/EVE time. Ships will be handed out so there's no reason not to come! Join their Discord for more information.

On the subject of NPSI, you can always check out https://npsi.rocks which aggregates the calendars of several NPSI groups, helping you find some quick and fun pewpews any day of the week!

A Legend Returns...

Many capsuleers use custom overviews in their clients and one of the most popular for many years has been Z-S Overview (you can join the in-game channel of the same name to obtain it). For a long time this overview pack has been maintained by Kismeteer. Recently one of the the original creators Zirio (the "Z" in "Z-S") re-emerged with a 10th anniversary gift to the community - a website which allows you to construct and export your own customized overview settings for EVE Online.

Rather than paraphrase his words we'll just link to the Reddit post where Zirio gives you the full rundown and accompanying links.

More cool things

Recently EVE Creator Rixx Javix has been on a tear. He just released part 2 in his series of Know Your Pirate Frigates and we hope he decides to carry this excellent series into destroyers, cruisers and beyond!

Meanwhile, Lloyd George once again delivers, although this time he's put aside the watercolors and instead is wowing us with his pencil talent, showcasing this beautiful Apocalypse sketch.
