Target Destroy Guristas Control Tower
Steps 3
Mission briefing Our intelligence team has just informed us of fresh new evidence, which apparently points to the girl being held in a Guristas stronghold in ***. According to our sources she is being held in it's Control Tower, to be executed there in the near future if their demands aren't met. It is our civic duty to see to it that she is returned to her family safely before those despicable Guristas fanatics murder her.

There is a fundamental flaw with our plan however, the Guristas are fully aware of our intention to free her and have sent in a fleet of their battleships to guard their outpost. Now I certainly do not expect you to fight against such odds, but I firmly believe you capable of infiltrating their base, rescuing the girl and escaping with your ship, and life, intact.

We have located a series of acceleration gates leading straight to their Control Tower. Once you arrive at the final area, all you have to do is destroy the Control Tower and retrieve the girl from the ejected safety capsule, all of their Control Towers have this mechanism to save their high-ranking personnel from death should the structure be obliterated. We hope that they consider the girl important enough to save in this way as well. If not ... well there is not much other choice. If we send in a fleet of ships they will simply kill her when they realize they have lost. We need to hit them fast and hard, before they know what hit them. That is the only chance we have of getting her out of there alive.

Now, if you do not find the girl alive after destroying the chapel, then active your warp drive immediately and get out of there! I wouldn't want to lose you needlessly, ***. But rest assured, should you fall then I will personally make sure the Pirate scum pay the price. Good luck.

This is an important mission, which will have significant impact on your faction standings.

10:15am 2007 Thursday 22nd November 2007 Well. Did this one and got the Corelatis spawn. Only been playing 4 months. So still love those frigs. Did it in an armor tanked Wolf with cap booster, T2 ACs. The BSs obviously take awhile to go down but like all the level 3s: it's doable in a frig. Always amazes me to hear folks talk about needing BCs to do these or even level 2s. This way is a heck of a lot more fun imo.

And yeah...like other folks said above. The BS spawns are doable. Pick them off one at a time then hit the control hub.

7:05am 2007 Sunday 30th September 2007 I did this whole chain, start to finish in an armour tanked Myrmidon. I pulled the blood raiders side-set, instead of gurista which is the only reason I could do the 10/10 final stage completely.

I killed all the BS, and salvaged 'em without breaking a sweat. The fitting wasn't anything special. Here it was (Apply BCs level 4):

4x Salvager
1x Tractor beam
1x Civilian Gatling Railgun (to pull aggro)

5x Cap rechager II

2x Medium Armor Repairer II
4x Resist mods (For the last stage, I used 2x Armor EM Hardener II, 2x Armor Thermic Hardener II)

Drones: 4x Ogre II, 5x Hobgoblin II

Wow. I was expecting a challenge.

9:20pm 2007 Thursday 30th August 2007 Mission briefing
Our intelligence team has just informed us of new evidence that apparently points to the girl being held in a Blood Raider stronghold in *********. According to our information, she is being held in their chapel and is going to be sacrificed in the near future in one of their bloody rituals. We must see that she is returned to her family safely before those despicable Blood Raider fanatics murder her.

There is a fundamental problem, however; the Blood Raiders are fully aware of our intention to free her and have sent in a fleet of their battleships to guard their outpost. Now, I certainly do not expect you to fight against such odds, but I firmly believe you capable of infiltrating their base, rescuing the girl, and escaping with your ship intact.

We have located a series of acceleration gates leading straight to the chapel. Once you arrive at the final room, all you have to do is destroy the chapel and retrieve the girl from the ejected safety capsule. (All of their chapels have this mechanism in place to save their priests from death should the structure be obliterated.) If we send in a fleet of ships, the Blood Raiders will simply kill her as soon as they realize they have lost. We need to hit them fast and hard, with a small force, before they know what hit them. That is the only chance we have of getting her out of there alive.

Not played yet.... anybody know something about ?

12:49am 2007 Sunday 26th August 2007 If you attack 1 of the 2 spawns (5 BS in each), the other will not agress you so take them out 1 by 1. I did the guristas version in a nighthawk (passive 'recharge only' tank) with 1 kinetic resistance amplifier added. It gets pretty heavy I can assure you but a nighthawk will have no problem doing this one.

For a mission specific tanked Raven (80+ resistance on kin, 75+ on therm) this will not be a problem, be aware though your shieldbooster will be running all the time so if you have a cap problem with that just don't agress any ships whatsoever (kill the tower and get out faaaast!).

There's some good loot in this one, be sure to bookmark the tower and return to collect it after the mission.

5:31am 2007 Monday 30th July 2007 I used a Cyclone for all of the missions.

Last mission was not as bad as the board made it seem.

Take the 2 Battle cruisers you first engage in the last room. then avoid the spawns on the right and left and fly within 35-40 KM of the tower.

Release your drones and have them engage the tower, as soon as they get within 10KM unload all you're weapons on it. it goes down in a volley or 2.

You can start warping to a station as soon as you engage the tower, it will go down before you actually warp.

Afterwards I just came back, killed the 4 frigates and 2 cruisers who were next to the tower (while still avoiding the BS spawns on the left and right) and looted everything.

I don't have any kind of uber set up on my Cyclone, 2 720's, 2 650's, 1 280 tech 2 arty for frigs, and 3 malk heavy launchers. Used phased plasma ammo and widow maker's through the entire last mission.

Had 1 shield extender, 1 bartons, 1 shield hardner and a medium converse equiped as well, but never took any hull damage from the BSes shooting me.

I even got back 1 of my hammerheads when I came back to loot the cargo can, which had an optical basic in it.

Also just to clarify I did try to use all the gates before getting to the last room, all were locked on the way in. Once all enemies died I could go back never saw anything respawn.

7:04pm 2007 Monday 2nd July 2007 I pretty much concur with all of the above.

However I did take out all of the BS spawns, one spawn at a time.

First of all don't touch the control tower till the very end.

I used an Infi Tank Domi. Named large Repper, Named armor hardners, Named cap rechargers to maintain cap.

Medium Guns (I hadn't trained large ones yet), and sentry drones, and tech II mediums and Tech II lights. I used the sentry drones that have max range (50KM), I cant remember which ones right now.

I would get into position and "pull" each group separately with the sentry drones. Then scoop em up after I get aggro, and start moving away from the aggroed group.

Take out frigates, then cruisers then BS's, using guns and tech II drones. (I can't wait till my training for tech II heavies is done!) All the while using distance as part of your tank. Smack the ships that close the fastest first trying to maintain minimal transversal for the guns. If the frigates or cruisers close, use drones, save the guns for minimal transversal targets.

Took all the spawns out and finished this mission in about 3.5 hours including salvage and loot scoop. Some of my wrecks popped in the first couple of rooms, it probably would have been better to scoop and salvage after each room.

I recently finished large gun training and Im almost done with heavy tech II drone training. My guess is this mission would even be easier with those tools.

Ended up killing all the little guys along the way, dont know if you can skip them entirely or not cause you warp in at 0km ontop of the next gate, never tried to activate it imedatly.

When you get to the final room, you get 4 BS to the left, 4 to the right 3 BC infront and a small spawn right ontop of you. Kill the inital spawn. You can engage each group seporately if you can/want, lota iskies in them BSes but I couldnt take them out alone so I warped away and came back XD

This is REALLY EASY to do with zero loss if you have drones. After the first spawn is dead, chugg your way right up to the tower (less then 5k) and kill the BCs. You can kill all the little structures around the tower first and collect their loot if you like. Once your ready, lock the tower and send your drones in to do the damage. Both sides will try their hardest to pulverize your helpless little zappers but if your quick, you can blow the tower and return them to your drone bay before a single missle ever makes contact.

I used 5 wasps with slightly above-average drone skills (heavy drone op 4 and drone interfacing 4) and was able to take the entire tower down and retrieve the drones just in time to watch the pretty cruise missles fly by =P

As long as you never take a pot-shot at the tower the big mean ships will just ignore you completly. Collect your implant, fly home, collect another, celebrate :)

2:48pm 2007 Wednesday 30th May 2007 There are no ravens or scorps now. Just a bunch of apocs. They use beam weapons so they need to be within 45k to start doing damage. Just use cruise/torp missles or long range hybrid and it's like shooting fish in a barrel. The damage types are also all wrong. They do a lot of EM dmg. My raven shield went fast cause I was expecting kin/therm, but my med armor rep held with no armor mods.

Also once you take out one group, the 2nd runs away and it takes a while to catch/kill them. Then you are 150k from the last group.

You do NOT need to get anything, just kill the tower.
dauthus

It may be that once you hit the tower, everything targets you: did this in a Drake and killed the tower as my ship exploded around me. Managed to finish the mission, but was being hit by multiple cruise missiles as well as a squadron of little ships nearby.

It may be worth warping in and trying to take out groups slowly (avoiding the tower)...but Im not sure if the behaviour has changed.

Also, don't bother with a cloak; you warp in next to a structure and next to several small ships.

12:17pm 2007 Saturday 17th February 2007 I managed to solo this in a raven with cruise missiles, but it took a while.

I used my drake to clean the first two rooms, and that was like any other mission. Then I took the drake into the third room and cleared out the rats next to where you warp in (there were like 6 frigs and one cruiser). I headed towards the control hub and killed all those rats, but I did NOT shoot the hub.

At this point, I went back for my salvaging ship to clean up everything. I took it into the 3rd room, and nobody gave me grief.

I went back and grabbed my raven, headed for the 3rd room. It took a bit, but I flew to the left spawn, and kept them 130km away (left spawn because it only had 3 BSes, whereas the right one had 4). I started to head away from them and opened fire. Once the first BS went down, the second was at about half armor when I sicced the drones on the frigs. Then they all went down about the time the 4 cruisers got into drone range. I put the drones on the cruisers while I killed the BSes.

At this point, I was about 175km away from the right spawn, so I headed that way. I got out to 130km, opened up. That spawn took longer since the lead BS had 4 (four!) defender missiles out most of the time. I wound up shooting cruisers and frigs, and the other BSes, and then closed range with the defender-shooting BS until he was in drone/rail and then NOS range. I orbited him at 20km, and he went down pretty fast.

Nothing much to it.

5:48pm 2007 Saturday 20th January 2007 We've just killed everyone in Guristas version. The spawns get aggressive independently, so you can take them one by one. We had a team of Raven+Dominix, although my Dominix could tank the spawns easily, so I could do that alone. Mind, though, that I have a decent amount of skills and a good setup, so this is not an easy mission. And I definitely wouldn't sustain the damage from both spawns for more than a minute.

11:21am 2006 Thursday 14th December 2006 A corp mate called me for backup. Angel Strike was Sansha.

In a good fitted Myrmidon with over 10 Million SP I tanked 5 BS and the rest of the posse of each spwan. The BS have 1.2 Million bounty each and they need good DPS and drones to bring them down.

Feels a bit like Mordus style.

12:29am 2006 Tuesday 14th November 2006 I did the Bloodraider version today.
In a Raven. I was fitted with Cruise Missiles.
It is easy.
Just kill the BS spawns one by one.

Go on max range, lock the first BS group and kill one by one with your Cruise Missiles. Then do the same with the other BS Group. I didn´t get any hit by the BS.
They will only hit you, if they come on close range.

1:23pm 2006 Friday 20th October 2006 Finished this mission last night in a Raven.

6x limos cruise
tractor beam
heavy diminishing NOS

3x Ballistic II
1x Thermal II
Large C5 shieldbooster
shieldboost amp

2x BCU II
2x PDU II

Close in on the control tower.
Allign on a station or planet and start flying towards it. That way you will warp quick when you have to. Alligning while being pounded with cruise and torps will take too long.
Release some expandable drones, have them attack the tower first. They wil draw the agro and help 'tank' some damage. Help the drones destroy the tower. If you have time enough scoop the drones and warp out. Had time enough to tractor the can and scoop the drones.

You can always return and collect the loot later, in my case an ocular filter basic also. Both BS spawns will not agro you unless you attack a group. that's what I did :D

After that I destroyed one of the BS spawns. Didn't have ammo and time enough to destroy the second spawn..rl stuff to attend.

4:46am 2006 Monday 16th October 2006 I finished this mission last night . There are many Ferox ( Guristas ) ships in last room . Not to mention the Battleships . There is a nice drop i got , a 17 million ISK Ocular Filter . Once you blow up the tower and warp back out . Go back in a Badger ( sounds crazy ) and grab loot . They never even locked me at all . I was as close as 40 km from 4 Usurpers , and they never even noticed me . But , if you go back in Ferox or Raven , they will continue to agro . Good luck !

7:41am 2006 Monday 2nd October 2006 the building that drops loot in the second part is the bunker, in my case it was the Sansha Bunker, not one of the cargo rigs

I only received a 100 S Plutonium Charges from it and it was 65km from the gate.

11:24am 2006 Monday 31st July 2006 Just an update.
I got the Blood Raider version of the last stage.
And the last stage with the 2 big BS groups is very doable, no problem at all.
My setup was:
Raven.
6 Cruise II, 1 Tractor beam, 1 Heavy NOS
2 * Thermal II, 2 * EM II, Gist B-type Shield Booster, 'Hakim' Shield Amp.
3 * BCU, 2 * PDS II
Paradise Cruise missiles.
Infiltrator drones (never used them).

I went to the one group at my max range (82 km) and started firing on 1 BS. When the cruisers start to head out to you, take them out, The blood raiders seem to be close combat ships, and they dont fire until very close.
After this group is dead, take out the other BS group in the same way. Finally the small cruisers at the Chapel. Blow up the chapel and your done.

Maybe the Gurista version is tougher? but this one wasent.
GL & HF.

4:22pm 2006 Sunday 30th July 2006 Has any tried taking out the 2 BS groups?
Any know if attacking 1 BS group, will make the other aggro?

7:55am 2006 Sunday 23rd July 2006 For the final battle, kill the NPC's around where you warp in.

Then, target the tower your supposed to take out, destroy it, and then get out QUICKLY. There are some major ships there that will own you in under 20 seconds. And they all attack as soon as you fire on the tower.

My ferox was scrap before I could even turn around.

Next time I think I'll try to sneak in to about 45km or so, turn around to face my warp to location and then start firing. as soon as tower is destroyed, maybe even just before, start warp.

You do NOT need to get anything, just kill the tower.

Cheers
