Mission briefing Because of your successful reconnaissance mission, we've managed to narrow down the location of the main Sanshas activity a bit. The data that we extracted from your system scanner also revealed to us a few Sanshas ships that were not mentioned in your preliminary report. It appears to be some sort of convoy, at least one of their ships was clearly an industrial. Because of this we guess that it may be a routine shipment, meaning that they might get a convoy at regular intervals. We'd like you to fly out there, preferably with a cloaking device, and lay in wait for any possible sign of another Sansha convoy. If you do see one, destroy it and bring back the contents of the industrials to me for inspection.

12:18am 2007 Friday 11th May 2007 A Sansha's Demon rushes you and roots you. In other words, the Demon slows your ship to a stop. This permits the other ships to all get into their optimal ranges and pound the stuffing out of you.

If you discover this after you have engaged, warp out and try again. You can still warp.

If you read this before you engage, you have a number of good options:

1. My favorite method is to target the Demon, set an orbit at 25km from the Demon, and destroy it with long-range guns. The Sansha Demon is very fast, about 500k/s. It will close to within 10km and root you if you are not alert and piloting a fast ship.

2. This is more difficult, but if you have skillz more fun. Target the Demon, get next to it, and blast it with short-range weaponry. The Demon will cooperate on getting close but will withdraw to about 9km.

3. The boring way that always works is to save the Demon for last by ignoring it--it is the most difficult ship to destroy thanks to massive shields and very fast armor repair. Destroy the other ships and warp out when you need to recharge your shields. Then return to rinse/repeat.

11:38pm 2007 Sunday 18th February 2007 As I posted in the corresponding "Part 4" thread for this mission, there's an extremely quick way to finish it. There's a quicker way out of Part 4 as well - once you're in the second deadspace zone all you need to kill is the Worker's Quarters.

Get a ranged ship, just kill the haulers, and buy the construction blocks on the market. The agent will accept them.

If you're going to be running L2s and have a propensity for getting this mission, it's smart to keep about fifty construction blocks at your home base or where you'll be getting the storyline missions from.

9:24am 2006 Monday 27th November 2006 There were only four ships in the N1-spawn for me. 1 Manslayer and 3 butchers. And of course the exact type rats are always randomized. I haven't figured out if the number of rats is randomized as well.
