The Rogue Slave Trader (2 of 2) Downing The Slavers [ comments: 11 ]

Enemy

The Blood Raider Covenant

Type DeadSpace (combo)
Target Kill all NPC's
Steps 2
Mission briefing Now that we've destroyed the slave pen and rescued the captives, it's time to turn our attention to the slavers themselves. You have the full authority of the government to shoot to kill, we do not expect any prisoners. And please do not confuse these low-lifes to the legit slave-users we sometimes do business with. These Blood Raider fanatics kidnap people indiscriminately, instead of only targeting criminals and POWs like the Amarr Empire.
We believe we know of the current whereabouts of these slavers. Warp to the bookmark that I will upload into your NeoCom, and try to find them somewhere in the asteroid belt.

8:17am 2008 Sunday 11th May 2008 Using a Drake, I did it in 1 shot thru w/o getting into my armor, I think @ the end of stage 2 I had 28% shield's left

Depending on your skills, I only have Drones 4, so I use 3 light's and 1 medium, and they were popping the little ships in a few seconds, sentry's would drop in less then 1 full volley, cruisers were dropping in I think 2 volleys.

10:55pm 2007 Tuesday 24th April 2007 :D I have done this mission many times, and use guns and Medium drones to clear the turrets, after that the other rats are easy.
Using a Large Shield Booster II helped keep my shields up.

Btw, you need to have an AB fitted:
As soon as you enter, aim ship downwards, release drones, and apply AB (and Shield booster), I found its best to get your drones to force-fire on the 1st tower, then the 2nd, so killing them faster (using Valkyrie and Vespa drones, mixed)

But how you do it is up to you, the further away you get, the less damage from the ships...

4:13am 2007 Sunday 25th February 2007 When you warp into the 2nd part, the incoming DPS will be quite high for a level 3 mission. Use sentry drones (Garde I) and ship guns to quickly dispatch sentry guns.Jet-Jaguar

I found that to be pretty hard, so what I did was to create a bookmark as soon as I warped in, then warp out. Then I warped back in at 100k, and took out a frigate or two at long range. After repeating that, I got the ships drawn far enough away so that I could warp in at 15k and take out the sentry guns.

BTW: those sentry guns have a range in excess of 70k.Moonchen

I gated in, in my Prophecy with 70/80 Thermal/EM and got hammered by the sentries. I warped out to get my bearings and dropped back in through the gate. I dropped one of the sentries and bookmarked it. I jumped back 100k out and lured the other ships away. Even with my Mk2 repper going, I couldn't find the outer range of the sentries, which must be 250k, as specced above, as they got into my structure once I'd aligned.

They also heft a heavy punch at close range, so knock out as many sentrys as you can, then keep popping back and forth. A MWD might have got me out of range, but my AB2 pushing me at 400kms nearly got my dead.

8:38pm 2006 Monday 13th November 2006 Confirmed on the asteroids. At current Heimatar pricing, that's approx 24 mil worth of raw omber per day - more if processed to the component parts. That's better than can be made on all the level 3 missions :

If any of you pure combat types are in the Pator-ish area and want someone to come mine it for you, with some profit splitting, send me an eve-mail. Same name as I'm using on this post. If you can pilot a transport, even better, but I do have both of my own. I can mine during the day whilst at work, so doesn't cut into my other playing time :) Normally takes me about 5 hours to mine out just the omber roids.

Edit: to correct time needed to mine.

10:02pm 2006 Wednesday 4th October 2006 Use missiles. the turets go pop in 1 volly. (im using ferox) 1st misile in volly is em then the rest are exp. pop in one volly :D . then when going after the rats change to em missiles on all.

4:03am 2006 Wednesday 23rd August 2006 You can kill the spawn in the area around the asteroids every day that you want to mine. (So up to 7 days of mining, 400,000 units a day ... you do the math). The mission area will reset 100% every day. The Objective Complete flag does not set until you go in and kill everything beyond the gateway. So all you'll have to tank is the system specific belt rat spawns.

Yes, belt rats spawn around these asteroids just like any other belt.

these will keep spawning (along with the rats) after DT if you do not go to the second stage.

If you decide to want to mine the omber, can you kill the spawn and then mine or will you have to tank at least one of them so you dont complete any mission objectives?

6:05pm 2006 Friday 18th August 2006 Yeah, roasting the turrets first is definately a must. They have insane DPS across the spectrum, so aren't as easilly tanked as everything else, but have pants HP.

Before you warp in load short-range, high damage ammo into your guns (assuming you're using guns) I've had good results blasting them with Multifreaks/Antimatter.

Still had to warp out once each time though, even with 82% EM and 67% Thermal. Nasty mission this is.

And the omber is there in the first pocket too, I extracted about 180k last night.

12:43pm 2006 Wednesday 12th July 2006 The first warp point in this mission has
8 * 50k Omber roids
10 * 25k Scordite roids
6 * 90k Veldspar roids

these will keep spawning (along with the rats) after DT if you do not go to the second stage.

I tend to mine this missions for ~6 days (in a barge) and the complete it.

Same goes for the lvl4 mission of this type.
