I am a bit confused. According to another scource Vengance don't have scramblers in the first 1 stage. But according to the info on EVEInfo it have scramblers in first stage. So whats true?
A large SB makes those 30k friggs die a lot faster than by drones.
...if those frigs come close yes. To be honest I don't remeber there orbit in this mission, but most of the times there orbits are from 6km to 9km (outside from the range of a normal large SB). On the other hand you can buy a good faction large SB with range up to 9km, but really expensive
Anyway, in some missions where the orbits of the frigs are really close (less than 5km) is a good (and fast) way to destroy them... BUT have in mind that in many cases when you use SB you are going to have full aggro from the stage.
I did the full mission in my cerb without much trouble. That is untill i tryed to kill the boss the DPS he reps is just too much for the cerb . So after a few mins trying to kill it i went back to the station and got my drake went down fast enough .Only thing is when i killed him some fly guy that found his way in to the mission looted the can and warped before i could get to it. His frig got in to fast did not even see him there till it was too late. Anyone know what would have been in the can ?
right i did the mission again last night and the loot from the boss man was nothing special a 425 rail gun torp launcher and a few t1 mods all in all about 5 mill just for killing him if you sell the loot . did it in a raven this time but his tank is still a bit hard to beat so had to get the drones on him at the same time as the cruise missiles then he died fast after that
OK - I did this in a Drake (too tight to buy a Raven) but it was a bit of a slog.
First 2 levels are pretty straight forward fitted like this:
7x named Heavy missile launchers
Kin, Therm, EM hardeners, 3x LSE II
PDS, BCU II, 2x SPR
5x Hornet I
The thrid level caused me to warp out once after I had killed 3 of the sentries. For anyone doing this, I wold drop the BCU II and use another SPR for the first part of the 3rd stage.
I cleared all but the boss and then attacked it, no dice, could not break the tank even at 4km distance.
So, I changed to the following setup:
5x Heavy Missile launcher II, 2x Arby (running out of CPU and PG)
Kin, therm hardeners, Shield Recharger II, 3x LSE II
1x PDS, 2x BCU II, 1x SPR
5x Hornet I
This took 3 full reloads to take him out, but it did get there in the end.
For anyone else wanting to do this in a Drake I recommend dropping the final SPR and adding another BCU II (You will probably have to go to 1 more arby instead of HML II to get the CPU to fit it all) and train T2 drones!!!
BTW - I have heavy missile specialisation at Lvl3 which is why the T2 launchers made such a difference.
the new patch has adjusted drops on the station, while its still not awesome, it's at least enough to get 2-3 mil from what I got (drones, commodities, named mod)
You could also chase the guy far enough and he will MWD back and you can put your drones on him then. I couldn't for the life of me break his tank till I could get 5t1 vespa on him and I've got 3mil missile skills
Solo'd this in a Drake(BC) configured as follows:
Lows: 3 SPR II, 1 BCS II
Meds: 2 Invul II, 2 LSE II, 2 SR II
High: Mishmash of generic and named HMLs
Rigs: 3 CDFP I
Amo: Scourge, CN Scourge for Boss
Most of the mission was medium difficulty, trained some parts, but did not have to warp out, spent most of the time using only one invul field. Boss was impossible from range, but once I got within 5K (took a long time, maybe 10 minutes) I destroyed the BS quckly. Elapsed time including looting, travel, selling, etc 2:45 minutes, generating 18.5 million ISK. I used my drones but they only added marginally to my DPS (my drone skills are low).
done this in my Golem (46M skill points, all support at lvl 5), with a normal mixed t1 / T2 setup (tank runs out in 13 mins if you salvage / track at the same time).

Just go in and shoot everything, do not bother to move. I recommend shooting the cruisers / BCs / destroyers first, due to their needing only one volley and as such your cutting DPS down fast.
The towers need 2 volleys, but due to range a volley is fired before the precedent arrives, so be sure to cycle your missile launchers manually after the second volley.
When I needed to finish that final bastard I just put my ship on "go near", switched off weapons and switched on the tank and passed my vaccum cleaner, then made coffee. After ten minutes we were close and he died in about 4 mins (drones ...)
