really really need some help please!!!!!

hi all,
i started playing eve 3 days ago (amazing game) all was fine up until this afternoon when i tried to log in to the game......it wont let me, i cant even access the official eve website (all other web sites are fine) ive tried everything e.g configure firewall, virus scan nothing i do seems to work, when trying to connect it says "server status unknown" instead of server online. when i click on log in the bar fills up and then it says something like "it is likely that you have not established an internet connection or the server is offline. my brother who also plays eve tried my account on his pc and it works fine. since i cant even get onto eve-online .com im pretty lost as to what the problem is. im at my wits end and i hope someone on here can help.

You sure you wasn't trying to connect during the daily downtime (between 11am and 12pm GMT - which is 12pm to 1pm BST, 7am - 8am EST)
