Hi there, I downloaded EVE last night through the free trial, I haven't done anything else yet. Before I start playing I've been searching for a very basic guide to the game so I can get an idea of what to expect but haven't been able to find one.
I've recently been playing Entropia so I get the idea of what is involved in a MMORPG. I've decided to give EVE a try because I've got to the point in EU where I can't really progress any further without spending a huge amount of real money that I'm just not prepared to do.
If there is anybody out there who might be as good to offer me some help before I start up then I'd really appreciate it. I plan to give it a go for the first time sometime later tonight and I'm really looking forwards to it!
Many thanks

Welcome to Eve. You're in for quite an experience. My first advice is to run ALL the tutorials. They really are quite good for a new player. Then you'll have a better starting point from which to ask more intelligent questions later.
This is a great resource for Eve players. The forums are superb, as are the links to guides of all sorts.
When you run through the tutorial, make sure you pay attention to the part about finding a player corporation to join. You'll have 100 times more fun in Eve if you find a corporation that meets your needs. There are all different types of corporations. Try to find one that sound good to you, but if you don't find the right one on your first try, then don't be afraid to keep looking and change to another corp later.
One more thing: If you get yourself blown up several times in your first few weeks playing eve, then fear not. That's how Eve is supposed to be, and you're probably playing it correctly. The ships are all meant for play and they are expendable. Fly what you can afford to replace and you'll never have a dull time in Eve.
Fly safe and perhaps see you in New Eden. _________________ I can monkey-proof my software, but you will still be a monkey. |
