Briefing :
We've just been informed of an official complaint from the mining division working in one of the asteroid fields in ***, about their haulers being attacked on sight by roaming rogue drones in the area. At first it started with just a few unsuccessful attacks, but the situation has worsened greatly and the hauler pilots, along with the
miners themselves, are on the verge of a strike. This is the perfect opportunity for someone like you to take care
of business and earn your reward, ***. I'll supply you with a bookmark to the location of the asteroid belt, eliminate the rogue drone threat there and then report back to me.

Looks to me that there are 2 Strain Infester Drones in the first spawn now, not sure if they where there before.

I believe now that the Drone Controller NPC does Explosive and Kinetic damage since I just did this mission and when I activated my EM and Thermic hardeners, the damage from the Drone Controllers weren't reduced. However, when I turned on an Explosive hardener, the damage was significantly reduced from doing 72-85 dph (around 10% exp res and 35% kin res) to 40-50 dph (kin res same, but exp res 59,5). Then when I activated my 2nd Explosive hardener, it did 30 dph (78.86 approx exp res). So, from Algebra, I figured that Drone Controllers do APPROXIMATELY 73 exp dmg and 22 kin dmg. From my log, they fire ABOUT every second (it's a little more than that, but let's do this to be safe).

This is how i figured it out:

Let x = the exp dmg and y = the kin dmg.
Also, I averaged some of the damage and calculated the amount
.9x + .65y = 80
(.7886)x + .65y = 30
(.9 - .7886)x = 50
x = 73 (rounded to the ones digit)
.9 * 73 + .65y = 80
.65y = 14.3
y = 22

Thus the exp dmg is 73 and the kin dmg is 22.

The minerals on the first part refine into about 5mill of mins.

the second part are worth about 8mill.

not sure it's worth farming for that? It can take a while with all those little pesky drones

hm... I did this mission today again with 80% resi on EM and Thermal and the "Drone Controller" did 100 hitpopints on me over and over again O.o
I had to fly out 4 times! Very strange... 100 hitpoints with 80% resistence. I wish I had such a weapon on my megathron .. grrr

The drone controllers have changed some time ago. A friend tried it with em/thermal tank and with expl/kin tank. The second one was ways better, so I suppose they inflict explo/kin now.

I guess some other drones have also changed.

I tanked kin and exp but never had to even turn a repper on for this one.

all the roids are veld and you can get 3-4 jet cans out of it, maybe a bit more without having to move.

I did this mission with 30% em 87% exp 76% kin 85%therm shield boosting for 75 every 2 secs and i did just fine. Think the lowest my shield went was 93%. Em missiles in all the missile bays. Should only take 1 hour at most to kill and loot this mission

Seems to have changed in the latest Rev 1.4.1 patch. Mission now includes at least one Strain Render Alvi (from what I could find the logs).

So watch for the scrambling on the first stage.

think it has changed again .in the first stage there is 1 bs cant mind its name but it takes a few missiles to go down and when fighting it you get this message 4 times ( Message >The Mother Drone has sent out a call for nearby worker and guard drones to come to her aid).don't do what i did and try to kill her first or you will have allot of damage being done to you by the time it is dead (15 too 20 ships if i mind right) take out one spawn go back to her till the next spawn turns up and so on and you will be fine last stage is still as it was.

Done this mission twice recently and neither time has the Drone Structure in the last stage dropped any loot.

Yep, be carefull for the Strain Alvi's, one render one splinter.

Me and my alt took Mother out, just before new arrived ...

Then we where in middle ...
our Drones were also attacked, and a few got killed.
Take out Strain's and run, get your drones back in bay ASAP (as soon you see the message)

One could consider the carfull method ... as decribed above.

Second level:
They attacked my alt, who hadn't any tanking ... Easy Piesy
3 alvi controllers, a small bomber .. didn't see a strain ...
